We thought we'd look into our cosplay crystal ball and give you a taste of
anime and cosplay events to come in the near future.
The weekend of Feb 19 - 21 gives you four choices:
Naka-Kon happens Feb 19 - 21, 2010 in Kansas City, Missouri and features a hallway cosplay, runway competition, skit competition and main cosplay competition. For those in the Pacific Northwest
Tsukino-Con is going on Feb 19 - 21, 2010 in Victoria, British Columbia and
Chibi Chibi Con takes place in Olympia, Washington on Feb 20, 2010. Both have
cosplay contests, but
Tsukino-Con has a Lolita Fashion Show and
Chibi Chibi Con has a Dating Game, if that helps you decide between the two.
Con-G happens in the Great Lakes Region in Guelph, Ontario Feb 20 - 21, 2010 and is hosting a masquerade and Anime Murder Mystery, but no specific cosplay contest as far as we can tell. That doesn't mean you can't suit up and make an impression though! If you miss those, you have one more chance to
cosplay before March arrives, and that's at
Mizuumi-Con in San Antonio, Texas on Feb 27, 2010.
The first week of March brings three options for the more centrally located Americans to get their
cosplay on:
AnimeLand Wasabi in Denver, Colorado from Mar 4 - 6, 2010;
Anime Fannatiku in St. George, Utah on Mar 5 & 6, 2010 and
Arkansas Anime Festival in Bentonville, Arkansas on Mar 6 & 7, 2010.
And then in the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day, we've got four more chances to
cosplay. Three in the Midwest:
A & G Ohio (A&G stands for Animation and Gaming, by the way) in Cincinnati from Mar 12 - 14;
Anime Milwaukee in Wisconsin Mar 12 - 14, 2010 and
Kawa Kon in Clayton, Missouri from Mar 12 - 14, 2010 and then
SpringFestNY in Brooklyn, New York Mar 13, 2010.
