It turns out that the end of February holds a few fairy-filled days to celebrate!

One is Tell a Fairy Tale Day on February 26th. According to Holiday Insights, it's a great opportunity to read your kids, or to read them to yourself!

Though adults may enjoy politically and legally corrected or fractured fairy tales for a grown-up twist. Or if you just want to brush up on certain tales or find out more about their origins, check out this great website - Sur La Lune Fairy Tales - great for scholars, fans or merely the curious.

Everybody loves a good fairy tale. They don’t have to begin with "Once upon a time..." but, they usually do, and after the happy ending, we love the idea of living happily ever after. Libraries and schools will often mark this day with special fairy tale readings and story hours, and we've got a bunch of great costumes to bring the stories to life. We've got Snow White's wig, the Mad Hatter's Hat, Red Riding Hood's hood, plus woodsmen, witches, frog princes and wolf-grannies, and much more.

Then on February 28th is National Tooth Fairy Day! This fairy's specialty is leaving small treasures under children's pillows in place of fallen baby teeth. Our comedic interpretation of the Tooth Fairy is not likely to comfort children though. And even adults might not want this tooth fairy anywhere near them! Especially when accessorized with the cigar and pliers. (Cringe!)

But there are other occasions to celebrate the magic of fairies and fairy tales. It looks like the North Carolina Renaissance Faire is going to be taking place in 2010 as the 1st Annual Midsummer Fairy Festival.
